Quirky Vegan wedding at The Retreat Animal Sanctuary in Kent – Indigo and Roberto

October 5, 2022

If you love animals then you’ll find tons of inspo from this Vegan wedding!

Indigo and Roberto got married at the spectacular The Retreat Animal Sanctuary in Kent. It was a wonderful vegan wedding, with an ice cream truck, flowers and animals everywhere and a Polaroid guest book to keep guests entertained.

The ceremony

The ceremony took place outside under an oak tree, and was decorated with hay bales, which was lovely. The ceremony included the couple saying personal vows they’d written themselves. It was a moving occasion, full of nervous giggles.

After the ceremony, we had a confetti aisle, which was so much fun, and I got some really fun photos of the confetti moment. The weather at this outdoor wedding was a real mixed bag, but that didn’t bother them at all.

The outdoor wedding

The reception was held in a tipi. The venue is perfect for weddings because it has so many options, and it’s got such a happy vibe, especially at sunset when the lights go down.

For the reception, the couple had organised an ice cream cart for their guests, and everyone loved it. Guests were then called for the wedding breakfast, which was a vegan feast – it was delicious.

The party

After the speeches, they cut the cake, and the party got started. The DJ played all the best songs to get everyone dancing.

The evening ended with everyone crowding on to the dancefloor with the couple, which was incredible, and everyone had a great time. The whole outdoor wedding was everything I love about weddings, from the bride’s awesome dress to the animals to the humanist ceremony, the whole wedding was basically my dream wedding goals.

Advice for planning your wedding

Your wedding day should be about the two of you and what you want and these two did just that and it was perfect.

I loved this outdoor vegan wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a wedding photographer, get in touch.
