Cardiff Wedding Photographer | Romantic Church Wedding in Llangynwyd Church, Bridgend

October 21, 2017

REBECCA AND JOHN’S RUSTIC WEDDING WAS A DIY STYLE, FUN AND RELAXED DAY IN LLANGWNYWYD, SOUTH WALES. THEY HAD GORGEOUS WILDFLOWER INSTALLATIONS, JAZZ SINGERS, PICNIC STYLE FOOD AND A BEAUTIFUL CHURCH CEREMONY.

Rebecca and John got married last summer in the gorgeous Llangwnywyd Church, which is a quaint little church in Bridgend, South Wales. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and the sun shone all day long!

Getting ready

Rebecca got ready at her gorgeous home with her bridal party and close family, and the atmosphere was so calm. The prep was so chilled out, and I had such a laugh with the girls. The girls then took Rebecca’s dad’s Van to get to the ceremony. The girls had decorated the van with flowers and ribbons that matched the colour scheme. John got ready at Blancos Hotel close by with his groomsmen and family. The groom travelled to the ceremony by car with his groomsmen.

Getting hitched

The ceremony was an intimate affair in a gorgeous little church in Llangynwyd. The even included their gorgeous collie dog Tamba, who wore a bandana in the wedding colours. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so beautiful and so emotional. You could tell how excited these two were to get married. They are so in love and they were full of giggles.

After the ceremony

The reception was in a marquee at the venue. They chose Llangwnywyd Church because it’s so cosy and relaxed and they could totally personalise it. It was a rustic vintage style wedding, which I loved as it suited the bride and groomperfectly. I love shooting marquee weddings weddings because they’re always so unusual. The marquee was filled wth flower installations and vintage elements.

They had live music in the afternoon, and an amazing dj in the evening. They decorated the venue with bunting and wildflowers, because it fitted with the time of year.

For dinner they had picnic baskets, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance was to Ben E King’s ‘Stand By Me’, and they finished off the evening with Jagerbombs all round. The first dance even featured a shoe change fro Rebecca into an amazing pair of gold light up heels from Irregular Choice.

The most memorable part of the day was the speeches, because they made us all laugh and shed a tear or two. They also had a song during the speeches – it was hilarious!

The couple

Rebecca wore a beautiful lace dress House of Mooshki tea length gown and John wore a relaxed grey tweed suit and they looked so beautiful. Rebecca’s dress had the most amazing pastel underskirt which she made herself and Rebecca’s shoes were a gorgeous ivoryvintage style pair of Irregular Choice shoes.

The couple met in their hometown and have been together for 4 years. They got in touch with me shortly after they had gotten engaged in Italy and their enquiry was so personal. They said they wanted a fun photographer, and I loved that they were so relaxed.

Rebecca and John’s wedding was so much fun and everything I love about weddings. Here’s their epic wedding!
