A stylish alternative wedding in South Wales – Taylah and Ben

November 15, 2022

If you’re planning an alternative wedding, you’ll find tons of inspo from this wedding!

When Taylah and Ben first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning a uber stylish autumnal wedding with an intimate ceremony, amazing decor and canapes and drinks for the reception. Taylah and Ben are literally the most fun people ever and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Bridal prep

I started at Margam Orangery, where the bridal party were getting ready, and it was so much fun, because everyone was in a good mood. Taylah wore a gorgeous black dress with gold jewelry and Ben wore a stylish black suit and they looked really incredible while all their bridesmaids wore a mix of autumnal colours and all the groom’s side wore black. These two are literally the coolest couple ever, I knew from the moment they got in touch, it was going to be an amazing day!

The ceremony

The wedding took place at Margam Orangery, which is a gorgeous venue in South Wales! It was a small intimate registrar led ceremony, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together with their little girl who really was the star of the show, after that the celebrations began.

The afternoon

The wedding reception took place in Margam Orangery, which they’d decorated with gorgeous autumn styled florals. Margam Orangery is such a beautiful venue and it’s so light and airy so you really can do anything you’d like with it.My favourite bits were the temporary tattoo station and the skateboard as a wedding guestbook. It was really unique.

It was a drizzly day, which didn’t bother them at all. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from our couples session is easily the one of the two of them outside Margam Castle. Check it out below!

During the reception they had a photobooth, which went down a storm. For the wedding breakfast they had a slap up meal, and it was loved by all the guests. Afterwards, there were a few speeches and the party got started. They also had an amazing DJ, which kept everyone entertained.

These two are literally the coolest couple ever! I had so much fun photographing their wedding and engagement shoot and it was so nice to see them get married!!

Here is Taylah and Ben’s wedding story.
