When Lou and Nikki first got in touch with me about their plans, I was so excited – they were planning a really relaxed partnership party celebration with a humanist ceremony, a ceilidh and live music for the reception! Lou and Nikki are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to capture their day!
I started at their gorgeous home, where the couple were getting ready together with some friends, and it was so chilled out and everyone was in a excited mood. Lou wore a beautiful dress with embroidery by the indigenous Otomí community in Tenango de Doria and Nikki wore a super cool colourful suit from King and Allen with a custom lining and the two of them looked absolutely incredible. There was something so lovely about seeing the two of them on the morning just chilled out, chatting and mingling with friends, you could really feel the good vibes in the room from the second you arrived.
The partnership party took place at Brickworks Community Centre, where they kicked things off with a fun humanist ceremony led by one of their closest friends. They had personal vows they’d written themselves and as well as some amazing readings by friends, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After that, they walked back down the aisle together, and then the celebrations began with everyone heading up to the roof terrace for some bubbly and food! I honestly cannot describe how much I loved this day, it was so relaxed and so personal to them which was the thing that made it so special!
It was a beautifully sunny day, which was glorious. While the guests hung around drinking Prosecco, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. My favourite photo from the afternoon is the one of the two of them just as everyones heading down to dinner. Check it out below!
During the reception they also had a ceilidh, which was AMAZING. The afternoon celebrations took place in the main hall on the ground floor, which they’d decorated with candles, colourful streamers and banners. It was so unique and it gave the room such a cozy vibe. For the meal they had an array of Indian food with lots of incredible veggie/vegan options, and it was absolutely delicious. Afterwards, they had some wonderful speeches and DJ Kaspa arrived to really get the party started.
These two are such an amazing couple and you could just see how happy everyone for them, and you really felt the love in the room all day! I couldn’t think of a better way to have spent it!
