If you’re planning a wedding at High Billinghurst Farm in Surrey, you’ll love this wedding for inspiration!
Rach and Louie got married at High Billinghurst Farm, which is a gorgeous farm wedding venue in Surrey with countryside views and amazing decor. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and even the rain didn’t dampen the day! When Rach and Louie first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning the most relaxed countryside wedding with a humanist ceremony and live music for the reception. Rach and Louie are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
I started at High Barn Farm, where the bridal party were getting ready together, and it was so chilled out, because everyone was in a good mood. While I was photographing the girls, Kaye was over with the guys getting ready and it sounded like they were having a blast, from drinks, jokes and even getting some last minute practicing in for the dance steps to Candy! (Wedding staple ofc!) Rach wore a stunning Willow by Watters gown and Louie wore a really cool blue suit from NAMenswear and they looked really incredible.
The wedding took place at in the main barn at High Billinghurst Farm, and was a romantic humanist ceremony. They had a surprise live choir which was incredible as well as personal vows they’d written themselves followed by some lovely readings and a sand ceremony which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony the couple danced back down the aisle together, and then the celebrations began.
The wedding reception took place in the main barn at High Billinghurst Farm, which they’d decorated with gorgeous florals and personal touches. It was so wonderfully personalised.
It was a stormy day, which didn’t bother them at all. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from our couples session is the one of the two of them outside the ice cream van. Check it out below!
During the reception they had a live band, which went down a storm. For dinner they had sharing platters from Tandem Catering, and it was absolutely delicious. Afterwards, they had some wonderful speeches and the party got started. They also had a glitter bar, which was a huge hit.
Top tip for planning a wedding
Your wedding should be about the two of you and what you want and these two are living proof of how much fun you can have when you let your creativity run wild!
