When Soffia and George first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so thrilled – they were planning a really fun brewery wedding with an intimate ceremony and food trucks for the reception. Soffia and George are the most wonderful people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
The excitement before the wedding
Kaye and I started the day together at the luxury Claremont Apartments, where the couple’s friends and family were getting ready together, and it was so chilled out and everyone was in a good mood. Soffia wore a gorgeous boho dress with white boots and George wore a three-piece suit and they looked really amazing.
The serious part
The wedding took place at Leeds Civic Centre and was a small Town Hall ceremony. They had a beautiful reading, which was so unique. After the ceremony they walked back down the aisle together and then we headed outside to do a few couple portraits!
The party
The wedding reception took place at the amazing North Brewing Company in Leeds, which they’d decorated with dried flowers. It was so pretty and well thought out!
It was a cool day, which was perfect for photos. While the guests enjoyed the free bar, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My absolute favourite photo from our couple’s session is the one of S+G shotgunning a beer outside the venue. This was definitely a first for me but omg I think it’s one of my fav photos we’ve ever shot, check it out below!
During the reception they played lawn games, which went down a storm. For the wedding breakfast they had a taco van, and it was absolutely delicious. Afterwards, the couple cut the wedding cake and the two of them had their first dance to Four Simple Words by Frank Turner! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Frank Turner so I couldn’t have been happier. They also had a Spotify playlist, which was a huge hit.
Advice for planning your wedding
These two literally did exactly what they wanted for the day and it was incredible! From the food trucks to the personalized beer glasses to the amazing speeches, the whole day and atmosphere was amazing!
